Do you find yourself constantly rubbing your neck, getting headaches, or suffering from back pain while sitting at your desk all day? There is an epidemic of spine conditions occuring from our sedentary behaviors and poor posture — worsened by the (too) many hours we spend chained to desks, computers, and cell phones! Come learn about how Physical Therapy and Pilates can help your symptoms!
We will discuss how excessive sitting effects neck and back pain, jaw pain, headaches, and wrist pain. The event will include a short talk on desk ergonomics, posture, and a Pilates-based exercise session focused on making your neck and back healthy and pain-free. The presentation will also include postural exercises and demonstrations of manual therapies that can help manage or prevent pain.

"As a dancer, I have met many therapists that are specialists for other sports but are unaware of the needs of dancers and performers; Sally gave me exercises that were specific for my art form and she worked with me on performance-specific movements. Because she is a former dancer, it was easy to speak my daily dance-language and have it understood, along with the biomechanics of what was necessary to perform everything. She really made sure that my rehabilitation process was the best for my career."
